Ms. Rukamanee Maharjan is an assistant professor of Law at Nepal Law Campus, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal where she teaches International Law, International Human Rights, and International Humanitarian Law.

Ms. Maharjan holds a LL.M. in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law from the University of Essex, UK. She previously worked as a program associate for the International Center for Transitional Justice, Nepal Office. She has work experiences on transitional justice, reproductive rights, case documentation on sexual violence and torture. She has carried out numerous study and research on a wide range of issues including reparative justice, reproductive health rights, conflict related sexual violence, gender justice, and violence against women.

Ms. Maharjan was a chevening scholar 2013-2014. She has received various awards and medal for her academic excellence including Lok Raj Gold Medal (Convocation medal for LL.B. course), Nepal Bar Council Awards (for LL.B. and LL.M), and Nepal Bidhya Bhusan Medal (Presidential Medal for LL.M. course).
